Tip #2: Look on the Bright Side

The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes.”
-William James

We often forget that we hold the power to choose how we look at our lives. We can let the negative possibilities overpower the positive ones or we can move against the negative pull and flip the coin. Choosing to look on the bright side empowers you and creates a positive ripple effect.

Now, lets choose to look on the bright side. Look at two scenarios and flip the coin. An example: On my desk, I have piles of paperwork to file and review, but next to these piles I have a picture of my family in a frame engraved with the phrase, “remember this moment.” I choose to look at that photo and feel my heart overflow with joy and love

That example could have gone in the opposite direction – leading down a very negative path. It’s incredible that we so easily forget that a positive side exists, and that it can alter our perspective within moments. That’s a powerful tool that should never be surrendered!

Take home message:

When your perspective seems to be working against you, make an important decision to flip the coin to the bright side.

“…we must actively find the beauty and positive aspects in the world. We must appreciate the beauty of each day and be thankful we have it, especially when we are hurt or down. During times of my life where things felt hopeless, I found beauty in the small things such as reflections, sunrises and sunsets. These small things got me through each day.”
