Despite the age and simplicity of this advice, it does work! When faced with a stressful situation – whether it’s a project at work, a burned dinner, or an annoying driver – take a deep breath and count to ten. Not only do these few seconds allow your stress to decrease, but it gives you an opportunity to think before you react. In addition, deep breathing stimulates oxygen circulation, which can increase energy and reduce anxiety.
