Tip #40: Free Your Life of Clutter | Guest Tip From Lisa Craven

I am thrilled to present the second guest tip, which comes from Lisa Craven! Find out how you can submit a guest tip at the bottom of this tip!

In a sense, clutter is the end result of procrastination.“
-Jeff Campbell, in Clutter Control

De-cluttering your life of useless, unimportant, and mundane objects or possessions is a goal we can all achieve.

Now, start with baby steps – one room or area at a time. Ask yourself, ”Is this item important or necessary to have in my life?“ If it’s not, then get rid of it. Make a decision and stick to it. If you’re unsure or waste too much time debating the issue, get rid of the item or place it in an incubator for a specific period of time and then make a decision!

When we declutter our lives of possessions that are meaningless, ugly, unimportant, or have no purpose, we create greater clarity. Life becomes simpler. We have less stuff to hold onto. We can breathe within open spaces that allow for more light and natural beauty.

Take Home Message:

Less is More. Don’t let physical clutter become mental clutter. Simplify!

Perseverance beautifully organizes reminder after reminder that every moment is precious. As a long-time cancer thriver, I would not trade for the resources I was able to tap into by looking at the fragility of my own life. Perseverance serves as a tender wake-up reminder that the present is the future we worried about in the past.
