Prioritize Your Time

September 8th, 2009

Do you ever put your life on hold waiting for the right moment to occur? It may be a small decision, like not starting an exercise routine because your schedule is already full. Or it may be a big decision, like not taking a family vacation because you are too busy at work. These decisions, and the limitations on your time, may seem reasonable at first glance. However, as time passes, you may realize how much you are missing by waiting for the time to magically appear. Time cannot be increased, but it can be manipulated. Now, think of something negative that you have experienced. Can you look back on it now and identify the good things that came out of your misfortune? Perhaps being laid off prompted you to start a new career or maybe a serious illness encouraged you to quit smoking. If you have difficulty finding the blessings hidden in tragedy, try looking at the experience from several different perspectives.

To achieve any type of success—conventional or otherwise—you must have hope that you will succeed. That means going through the good and bad times without losing that valuable perspective on hope and possibility. In short, it’s a little thing I like to call Perseverance.
