When You Feel

Quoted No. 8

Today’s quote speaks volumes for me and where I am in the present moment. Noticing discomfort and trying so very hard to let it be, having faith that light will return.

What are you noticing today?

May your week be filled with faith and a shimmer of light.

WEBSITE/BLOG NOTE: Tomorrow, A Beautiful Ripple Effect will redirect to my main website (carolynrubenstein.com). This blog will live under that domain—same blog, different web address. You will automatically be redirected to the new URL when this change happens so if you access this site via the web you won’t have any problems. However, if you read this blog via RSS or receive posts by email, I’m not sure how or if that will be affected. If you notice something weird happening, please send me an email (carolynblog@me.com). I’ll keep you posted on this change!

This weekend will be simple. I hope to spend some time outside and also some time reading and writing. I will also be digging into Susannah Conway’s Photo Meditations. I love these weekends!

What are your plans this weekend?

The latest issue of Kinfolk Magazine has sparked an inner craving for simplicity. I want to refine my focus and get back to the bare essentials.

White space—online and offline—allows me to breathe and reflect. The light shines where it is needed and is distributed with care.

I want to nourish a sense of inner quiet, a deeper serenity.

I love the manifesto of Kinfolk Magazine, specifically:

Every element of Kinfolk—the features, photography, and general aesthetics—are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived.

In the US, today is Independence Day. I will be enjoying a casual barbecue with my family this evening. It will be simple and uncomplicated. This is the type of gathering I most cherish. It’s a celebration of our everyday.

Notice the simple. Appreciate the uncomplicated. Preserve the less contrived.

How can you celebrate your everyday?

Quoted No. 7

Last week, I created a mailing list for the little paper dream. Sharing this link for sign-ups has been the scariest part of the process. Over and over, I thought: Will anyone sign up? Have I created something that no one is interested in? Creating a list on a Friday is not the smartest idea: only about 3 people subscribed Friday afternoon! To those three people, THANK YOU, for saving my sanity :).

Today’s quote is a reminder this week to be courageous—even when we’re scared to death!

Wishing you a wonderfully courageous week!

After publishing the little paper dream report yesterday, I decided to finally create a mailing list dedicated solely to this project. This list is separate from all other lists I’ve created in the past. I plan on sending little updates to this list periodically and making announcements via the list before posting/tweeting/facebooking/pinning.

In the first note to the list (next week), I will be sharing more details about the project along with its name! If you’re interested in joining this list, you can sign up here.

Below are a few links for you to peruse this weekend.

May your weekend be filled with lots of dreaming :)!
